Finding New Skates

Finding The Right: BOOTS

Find a Store

Finding a good store that can either hold or stock lots of skates is key! In turn this will save you both time and money in travel costs, and will save you having to hunt for different brands and skates elsewhere.

As Many As Possible

Next you want to be able to get in as many different brands and sizes in those brands as possible. If you usually are a size 4, then look to order in from sizes 3-5.

Try On

Now this is the most important part. Make sure to spend a good amount of time in each skate, IN THE SOCKS YOU WILL BE WEARING WHEN YOU SKATE. You are looking for good ankle support but no pain anywhere.

Enjoy!

The biggest advice I can give is: you must be COMFORTABLE in your skates, there are many good and different brands for different feet, so please go for what fits you best.

Finding The Right: BLADES

Like with boots, there are many different types of blades you can get. Sometimes your boots will come with blades attached and other times you will have to buy blades separately to the boots.

In order to get the right ones you should best contact both your coach and the store you're buying them from, to make sure you're getting the right blade for the right discipline and skill level. I'll leave a link to some sites depending on the discipline as a guide
